Look beyond
the surface.

A processor is more than a name on a package. Beneath the surface is a physical design: geometry, layers, and connections.

This independent ARM1 reconstruction by hadi brings that design into a downloadable layout file. It is an invitation to zoom in, inspect the geometry, and explore the work for yourself.

Think in layers.

A layout is built from overlapping geometry. Toggle the illustrative layers below to see how a composite view comes together.

A few useful details.

What am I downloading?

The arm1.gds file: hadi’s ARM1 layout reconstruction in GDSII format. It contains layout geometry, rather than a processor emulator or an executable program.

Is the interactive diagram the actual file?

No. The diagram above illustrates the idea of layered geometry. To inspect the actual reconstruction, download arm1.gds and open it in a compatible layout viewer.

Is this an official Arm release?

No. This is an independent reconstruction project by hadi, not affiliated with or endorsed by Arm.

The download does not open. What should I check?

Save the file first, then open it using a GDSII-compatible layout viewer. If the download returns a missing-file error, the site owner needs to place arm1.gds beside this page on the server.

Explore at your own pace.
